Operator's home observations
Home room reading log
These three snapshots came from one hygrometer in one home. They show what was recorded, what we calculated from it and what remains unknown. They are not an equipment experiment, a sample of typical homes or evidence that a particular placement is suitable.
The dates and times below were confirmed by the operator. They do not come from the hygrometer's displayed clock. The time zone was not recorded. Each displayed dew point is calculated from the photographed temperature and RH; the device did not measure dew point independently.
On a narrow screen, swipe or scroll the table sideways to see all values and photos.

Three dated snapshots, not a continuous record
Recorded context and missing information
- Sensor position
- The same spot on top of an air purifier, as confirmed by the operator.
- Air purifier operating state
- Not confirmed. No equipment effect can be inferred.
- Heating, cooling and ventilation
- Not recorded.
- Time zone and settling duration
- Not recorded for these snapshots.
- Surface and outdoor temperatures
- Not measured in this record.
- Instrument accuracy
- Not independently verified. Decimal display precision is not an accuracy certificate.
The position is described to preserve context, not recommended as a meter location. Follow the placement guide for an open, representative room spot and the original photo captions. Public images are metadata-stripped WebP copies. Original image files and location metadata are not published here.
How future entries will be recorded
For a comparable series, keep the same device and documented position, follow its settling instructions, and record the actual local time and time zone. Note whether nearby equipment was running rather than inferring it from a photograph. If the position changes, identify that change so it is not mistaken for a room trend.
A future surface value must be a separate measurement, with the surface and instrument method recorded. Reflective glass needs particular care with infrared temperature readings; see the surface-measurement limitations and Fluke reference. We will not infer a missing surface reading from the room temperature, or backfill unrecorded activities and times.
Next readings will be added as they are recorded. No additional dates, photographs or measurements have been generated to fill the gaps. The underlying three readings are the same maintained data used in the hygrometer guide; the dew points are recalculated at build time with the site's published method.
To keep your own private record, use the reading log and CSV controls. Your entries are not added to this public page. For differences between rooms at one time, use the location comparison.
